Wilma Woosley Jones

Wilma Woosley Jones, 95, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 15, 2026. She was born on August 17, 1930, in Forsyth County to the late Carl and Beatrice Saylor Woosley. Wilma graduated from Lewisville-South Fork High School in 1948 and married Phillip R. Jones in 1949. They enjoyed a wonderful marriage of 64 years until his death in 2014. She had a long career working for Dillard Paper Company, retiring in 1989. Wilma was a faithful and longtime member at Concord Methodist Church in Lewisville, NC. She loved her church and served in many capacities over the years, including making delicious chicken pies to raise money. She loved her family and enjoyed going to her children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events. Cooking was one of her passions and she always hosted wonderful family dinners. Wilma was a very sweet and kind person who enjoyed helping others. Preceding her in death along with her husband is a son, Stephen Jones; granddaughter, Jessica Jones and two sisters, Helen Westerman and Cornelia Bailey. Surviving is a son, John Jones (Sherry) of Mount Pleasant, SC; three grandchildren, Christopher Jones (Tracy) of Raleigh, Jeffrey Jones (Jen) of Pfafftown, and Hannah Jones of Mount Pleasant, SC; four great-grandchildren, Abby, Allie, Ellie, and Graham Jones; sister, JoAnne Jarrett of Wilmington, NC and many nieces and nephews whom she loved. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, January 22, 2026, at Concord Methodist Church with Rev. Keith Nichols and Rev. Tom Albert officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the Family Life Center. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Concord Methodist Church, 8955 Concord Church Road, Lewisville NC 27023, or Trellis Supportive Care, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem NC 27103.
