Woodruff “Buddy” Franklin Sink Sr., 93, passed away on June 12, 2026, at his residence in Winston-Salem, NC.

Born on March 2, 1933, to K.W. Sink and Evola Walker Sink, Buddy grew up in Ardmore and loved to tell his family stories about the way it used to be. He gardened with his father down where the Food Lion can be found on Hawthorne Road. His love of gardening began then. In later years, he had the largest garden in his neighborhood!

Buddy earned his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of South Carolina. He began his career working in sales for auto parts and later owned an auto repair shop.

For many years, Buddy was involved with the Boy Scouts of America, first as a youth scout and then as an adult leader. He was a long-time member of Highland Presbyterian Church in Winston-Salem. He was also an active member in his local Masonic lodge. In his retirement, he enjoyed participating in Stamp and Coin Clubs.

In addition to his parents, Buddy was preceded in death by his beloved granddaughter, Kinsey Sink, sister, Betty Highfill. He is survived by his loving wife, Betty; his son, Frank, his children, Andy and Corey, and their mother, Kim Sink; his son, Tom, his children, Jared and Annika,and their mother, Scarlet Young; and his son, David, his wife, Kate, and their children, Tim, Jed, and Charlie.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at Highland Presbyterian Church, 2380 Cloverdale Ave NW, Winston-Salem, NC 27103, officiated by Rev. Randy Harris. A reception will follow the service in the fellowship hall.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Crisis Control Ministry, 200 10th St E, Winston-Salem, NC 27101, or Highland Presbyterian Church, 2380 Cloverdale Ave NW, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
