Wynona Elva Vass Hill

Mrs. Wynona Elva Vass Hill, 89, passed away on January 8, 2025, at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born on April 3, 1935, in Carroll County, Virgina to the late Montaque Vass and Artie Jenkins Vass. Wynona enjoyed cooking and baking, crossword puzzles, and gardening. Wynona was very close to her four sisters and loved spending time with them. She was very passionate about sewing and quilting and worked in the fabric department at K-Mart for fifteen years. Wynona was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will be missed by all who knew her. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, John M. Vass; and three sisters, Opal V. Bruner, Carolyn Walker, and Mary Alice Marshall. Wynona is survived by her husband, Dearl O’neal Hill; one daughter, Nancy Leonard (Chuck) of Walnut Cove; two sons, Robert M. Hill (Kristin) of Sharpsburg, Georgia, and Greg Hill of Pfafftown; seven grandchildren, Jennifer Dahmer (Carrington) of Advance, Christopher Hill (Stephanie) of Walnut Cove, Nicole Hill of Atlanta, Georgia, Taylor McGrath (Alex) of Chattanooga, Tennessee, Justin Leonard (Meridith) of Madison, Sami (Shane) Hitchew of Sharpsburg, Georgia, and Brandon Reagan of Lansing, Michigan; eight great-grandchildren, Kaleigh Leonard, Blake Leonard, Cooper Dahmer, Colton Dahmer, Camden Dahmer, Dean Hitchew, Norah Hitchew, and Caroline Hill; one daughter-in-law, Angie Hill; one sister, Patsy Coulson of Radford, Virgina; a special caregiver, Malinda Hauser; and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday January 10, 2025, at Crestview Memorial Park with Chaplin Drew Southern officiating. The family will receive friends an hour prior at Hayworth-Miller Rural Hall Chapel.
