Addie Young

Addie Young, 94, passed into the more immediate presence of the Lord on March 27, 2019.  Addie was born on September 18, 1924, to Lee and Lida Turlington of Coats, NC.  She grew up on the family farm and, upon graduating from high school, married her sweetheart, Joe Young, who passed away in 1989.  Addie and Joe had one son, Terry Young, who passed away in 2004.  Predeceased also are her mother and father, sisters Ruby Currin and Emily Weaver, brother Robert Turlington, and niece Sue Clayton. Addie’s remaining family includes her grandchildren Amanda Wise (Tad) of Advance, NC, and Patrick Young (Jess) of Huntersville, NC; her great grandchildren Crayton and Kennedy Wise of Advance, NC and Decker and Kempton Young of Huntersville, NC; her brother Graham Turlington of Coats, NC; her daughter-in-law Becky Young of Advance, NC; as well as many nieces and nephews.  Addie was a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Dunn, NC, and a devout Christian.  Addie retired in 1986 after a 40+ year career at BB&T as a bookkeeper.  A graveside service will be conducted 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, March 30, 2019, at Greenwood Cemetery in Dunn, NC.  The family will remain at the graveside at conclusion of services for condolences.  Memorials in Addie’s memory may be made to First Baptist Church, 309 W.
