Annie Boyd

Ms. Annie Pauline Boyd, 68, passed away Wednesday, May 4, 2022, at Presbyterian Medical Center in Charlotte, NC with her son by her side. Annie was born in Richlands, VA, on October 20, 1953, to Iles and Avis Boyd.

Annie was a loving daughter, mother, grandmother (N’Annie), sister, aunt, and friend. An avid sports fan, Annie loved her Alma mater, the Wake Forest Demon Deacons; the Carolina Panthers; and the Boston Red Sox. In her free time, she enjoyed crossword and sudoku puzzles, a great Rom-Com, and crafting handmade greeting cards. However, her favorite pastime was sharing old stories with family and friends. Annie was a hard worker and dedicated employee spending over 35 years of her career in fiduciary tax at Wachovia/Wells Fargo, where many of her co-workers became like family.

She was preceded in death by her parents Iles and Avis Boyd.

She is survived by her son, Chris Boyd (Sarah); granddaughters, Blake and Dylan; sisters, Patricia Hughes (Jiles), Cathy Compton (Brent), Trainey Walker (Ric), Terry Osborne (Cliff), and Christine Reynolds (Chris); brother, Jerald Boyd (Tressia); and several nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 4:30 PM Saturday, May 14, 2022, at Ardmore Moravian Church (2013 W. Academy St., Winston-Salem, NC) with Pastor Kevin Frack officiating. The family will receive friends at 4:00 PM prior to the service. A reception will be held after the service in the fellowship hall.
