Betty Flynn

Betty Ogburn Flynn passed away in the early hours of August 5, 2022. Betty was born the eighth of nine children to Crockett and Mary Ogburn on April 12, 1930. Growing up on a family farm she learned a strong love of family, an appreciation of hard work, the art of cooking and an incredible green thumb. In 1949 she started a sixty-six-year adventure when she married her sweetheart Carl and added his parents, three sisters and brother to her family. Her love of family continued with a son and daughter followed by a granddaughter and great-grandson. Betty’s love of God, caring, giving spirit and laugh - along with her apple pies and potato salad - will be remembered and missed. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Carl Flynn, son Dale Flynn, son-in-law Michael Ingram, parents, six brothers Paul, John, Whuell, Robah, Bill and Dink Ogburn, sister Kathleen Krause. Left to cherish her memory are daughter Denise Ingram, granddaughter Tiffany Ingram, great-grandson Ryden Ingram, sister Jennie Sapp, numerous nieces and nephews and caregiver JoAnn Smith. A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Monday August 8, 2022, at First Baptist Church of Stanleyville with Pastor Eddy Honeycutt officiating. Burial will follow at Crestview Memorial Park. Betty will lie-in-state one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association of North Carolina, 5171 Glenwood Ave #101, Raleigh, NC 27612.
