Mrs. Bonnie Nelson Cheek, 77, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 19, 2021. Bonnie was born in Wilkes County on January 21, 1944, to the late John Henry Nelson and Lela Lyon Nelson. She was well known for her beautiful African Violets, she owned and operated Carousel of Violets on Stratford Road for nearly 25 years before retiring. Bonnie loved her family and furry babies. Along with her parents, Bonnie is preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Charley Cheek; Brother, Kelly Adams; Sisters, Rosemary Hicks, and Betty Lyons. She is survived by her children, David Cheek (Lori), Sandra Hagan (Charles) and Anthony Cheek (Libby); grandchildren, David Cheek III (Martina), Christopher Cheek, Kelly and Kloe Cheek, Amanda Harbuck, Matthew Hagan (Hope) and Zoe Barrington; three great-grandchildren, Bly, Arielle and Daisy. Visitation will be Friday, July 23, 2021, from 6-8 PM at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.
