Mrs. Carol Childress Barber, 71, passed away on April 3, 2023, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. Carol was born on June 16, 1951, in Forsyth County to Buddy and May Lou Childress. She enjoyed cooking, traveling, and most of all spending time with her family, especially grandchildren. Carol worked at RJ Reynolds for 9 years, then worked as an inspector at Corning Cable where she retired. She was preceded in death by her father and an uncle, Herbert Johnson. Carol is survived by her husband of 33 years, Robert “Butch” Barber, her mother, one daughter, Angela Ouellette, one son, Chris Ouellette, two step-daughters, Christy Ray and Jennifer Sneed, four grandchildren, Austin Boles (Samantha), Payton Boles, Preston Sneed, Jacob Sneed, five great-grandchildren, Kylie, Lacie, Harlow, and Olivia Boles, and one special grandson, Braelee. A memorial service will be held 5:00 PM Saturday April 8, 2023, at Hayworth-Miller Rural Hall Chapel with Pastor Rick Carter officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior at the funeral home.
