Mr. Cesar Cristobal Rijo, 65, passed away Tuesday, August 2, 2022. He was born November 16, 1956, in La Romana, Dominican Republic to the late Dulce Rijo.
He was a God loving husband, brother, father, and grandfather, who loved baseball and golf, traveling around the world, and deeply enjoyed the culinary arts. He was passionate about spending time with family and friends and was always a great go-to person for any advice. He was always compassionate, welcoming, and willing to help those around him with love and selflessness. The family also knew him as Mr. Fix-it-All, master coordinator of events, and a great storyteller.
He was very proud of all his successful accomplishments as a Food and Beverage Manager in the Dominican Republic in the hospitality industry. After migrating to the United States of America, he became a Chef at United Airlines Chelsea, from where he retired after 28 years. He had most recently played an important role in the Fundacion Hoteleros Pilares Romanenses where he shared, and put into practice, his vast experience and knowledge.
A man full of life. He will be dearly and deeply missed by all who love him.
In addition to his mother, Cesar is preceded in death by his sister, Arelis Beras and brother, Hector Rijo. He is survived by his loving wife, Migdalia Santiago; six children: Samuel Rijo (Patricia), Junior Rijo (Yesica), Davis Rijo (Raydhira), Carlos R. Flores Santiago (David Wayne Wright), Carmen Flores (Hector), and Alan Jenkins; six grandchildren: Allison, Samuel, Lenox, Francheska, Zazette, and Ahlondra; brother, Victor Rijo; and sister, Blanca Castro. A visitation will be held Saturday, August 6th from 10:00 AM to 12:00 Noon and 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.
