Charlie Keaton

Charlie Pledger Keaton, 80, passed away on January 22, 2021 at Clapps Nursing Home in Asheboro. He was born on September 23, 1940 to Charlie Franklin Keaton and Julia Margaret Hauser Keaton in Forsyth County. Charlie was a dairy farmer for many years. He enjoyed all sports including football, baseball, NASCAR and wrestling. He will be remembered for his quiet, pleasant nature and easy-going personality. Charlie was preceded in death by his first wife, Lillie Mae Keaton; grandson, Kenneth Keaton, Jr.; stepson, Jack Tilley; and brothers, Roy Keaton and Bobby Keaton. Surviving, are his loving wife, Shirley Keaton; son, Kenny Keaton (Gail); stepchildren, Pete Tilley, Louise Brannen, Robert Tilley, Brenda Burrow (David), Sharon Brown (James), William Beane and Larry Beane; four grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and a sister, Lillie Belle Childs.
