Claudia Ellis Stephens

Claudia Ellis Stephens was born February 16, 1945 in Los Angeles, California to Howard and Frankie Jeanette Halbert. She was married to John Ellis on April 4, 1964, and they had six children.  After studying the Bible, she dedicated her life to Jehovah and was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on February 17, 1973.  Over the years, Claudia enjoyed an active life.  She was a stay-at-home mom, talented flutist and she and John stayed busy over the years, running a farm, traveling with their children and tackling all kinds of home projects, big and small.
In later years, she enjoyed riding her horses, was a talented kitchen designer, loved cooking with her grandchildren and could knit or sew anything she set her mind to. She especially loved teaching people about the Bible and took on the challenge of learning a new language later in life to reach more with the good news.  After a battle with cancer, Claudia passed away on November 19, 2021.  She held on dearly to the hope of seeing all her family and friends again in a peaceful world, free from suffering and death. She is preceded in death by a beloved son, Brian Ellis, who passed away in 2007 and son-in-law, Eric Summers who passed away in 2020.
She is survived by her spouse, Michael Stephens; sons, John Ellis and wife Pamela, Robert Ellis and daughter-in-law Sherry Ellis, James Ellis and daughter-in-law Kimberly Ellis, Daniel Ellis and daughter-in-law Dennell Ellis; a daughter, Cristine Summers; daughters-in-law, Kathleen Etchison and Lisa Ellis; stepsons, Seth Stephens and Luke Stephens; and grandchildren, Collette, Jeanette, Sophia and Giovanna Ellis, Ashley Czaja, Johnathan Ellis, Lesley Cronquist, Jacob Ellis, Nicholas and Ethan Page, Annabelle and Casey Ellis, Abilene and Hudson Ellis. Claudia will be greatly missed by her family and her spiritual brothers and sisters.  Her family is very thankful for all the love and support being shown during this difficult time.  Online condolences may be made at www.hayworth-miller.com
