Clyde Moorefield

On Monday September 26th, 2022, our beloved Clyde (Clydie) Gray Moorefield our Daddy and Pa unexpectedly passed away. Clyde was born on August 6th, 1946, to Jona Clyde Moorefield and Myrtie Alice Newsom Moorefield in Stokes County, North Carolina. Clyde graduated from North Forsyth High School in 1964. He loved his family dearly and was always there to help others. He worked and later owned and operated Moorefield’s Automotive and Towing for 56 years, first with his father, J.Clyde and later with his son Brian and Grandson Jalon. Clyde never met a stranger, he was everyone's Pa. He was always the one to call when something needed fixing, and not just automobiles. He helped so many people in the community with many issues, he was the supreme problem solver. He enjoyed eating lunch with his buddies and visiting every table in the restaurant to say Hello, and kiss a few people on the head, he always had a good story to tell and loved joking around. His mischievous, larger than life personality, smile, laughter and self-less love for his family will be greatly missed. We have a peace that transcends all understanding, knowing he has a Home in gloryland that outshines the Sun. He was an active member of Woodland Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Donna Moorefield, sister Virginia Ortiz (Jim) of Winston-Salem, a daughter Sonya Cox, and husband Thad Cox, a son Brian Moorefield, and wife Tonya Moorefield all of King, NC. Grandchildren Savannah Eaton, (Brandon) Hayley Cox, Brettan Cox, Elijah Cox (Lauren), Jared Moorefield, Jalon Moorefield, Jonah Moorefield, Justus Moorefield, Jude Moorefield, and six great grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Friday, September 30th from 4-6 pm at Woodland Baptist Church with a Memorial service to follow at 6pm. Flowers accepted, or donations can be made to Woodland Christian School Scholarship Fund The family would like to extend their gratitude to all those who have reached out and covet your continued prayers. Thank you also to Hayworth Miller and Pastor Tim Gammons, Pastor Roger Baker, and Pastor Peter Cain.
