Deborah Hope

Mrs. Deborah Carrigan Hope, 63, passed away at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home on August 21, 2020. She was born on September 9, 1956 to Lougene Arrendale and Everett Lee Carrigan in Gaston County. Deborah was a devoted member of First Wesleyan Methodist Church. She was caring and her church family was very important to her. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Craig Carrigan; sister, Anita Helms; and niece, Shelly Hood. Surviving are her sons, Michael McElwaine (Leigh Andra) and Casey McElwaine (Brittanie); brother, Ronald Carrigan (Carla); sister, Pam Hood; niece, Ashly Black (Christopher); and grandchildren, Whitten, Roman, and Currie. A private memorial service to celebrate Deborah’s life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Wesleyan Church of Cherryville, 800 N.
