Denise Anderson

Denise Kelly Anderson, age 58, died on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 in her home. She was surrounded by family after a hard-fought battle with cancer. Denise was born in California to Jack and Lillian Kelly and was one of four children. She spent most of her life in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Denise graduated from Reynolds High School. She pursued a career as a dental assistant - a profession she devoted herself to for thirty years. Denise’s involvement in dentistry also gave her the opportunity to pursue mission work - an area for which she was very passionate. Her mission work took her to Kenya, Togo, Dominican Republic, Jamaica and Peru. She made an immense impact on the people she came in contact with on her trips and was instrumental in ensuring the functionality of the clinics that were set up for dental work. Denise was well-known for her love of horses, gardening, birds and crafting. She found joy in riding and caring for her beloved horses, Joe and Sheik. Denise’s greatest love was her family. She took the most pride in her sons, Seth and Alex; and was happiest spending time with them. Denise is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Tony; sons, Seth [Nicolette] and Alex [Kelsey]; granddaughter, Ava; mother, Lillian; brothers - Jeff [Margaret], Mike and Shaun [Debbie]; and numerous extended family and friends. A graveside service to celebrate Denise’s life will be held on Monday, January 18 at 11:00 AM at Crestview Memorial Park in Rural Hall. The family requires that everyone in attendance wear a mask. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to one of the following charities listed in honor of Denise: Footbridge (Donations for mission work) at https://footbridge.org/give-1 or to the Glioblastoma Foundation (Donations for treatment research) at https://glioblastomafoundation.org/get-involved/donate.  Online condolences may be made at www.hayworth-miller.com.
