Doris Winfrey

Mrs. Doris Long Winfrey, 90, passed away Thursday, January 20, 2022.  She was born November 8, 1931, in Forsyth County to the late Esker John Long and Eunice Waller Long.  Doris was of the Presbyterian faith and retired from Loehmann’s Dress shop.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. In addition to her parents, Doris is preceded in death by her loving husband of 58 years, Roy Alfred Winfrey; two brothers, Gene Long and E.J. Long; sister, Becky Cash; two great-grandchildren, Anderson and Josiah; and daughter-in-law, Cathy Winfrey.  Doris is survived by four sons: Michael Alfred Winfrey (Sue), Daniel Lee Winfrey, Randy Keith Winfrey, Sr. (Debbie), and Timothy Dale Winfrey; eight grandchildren: Marla, Jason, Jennifer, Christopher, Randy Keith Jr., Matthew, Amanda, and Cameron; eleven great-grandchildren; and sister, Norma Jean Long (Jimmy).  A graveside service will be conducted 1:00 PM Wednesday, January 26th at Forsyth Memorial Park.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Westchester Harbour, 630 Whittier Ave, High Point, NC 27262.
