Edward “Eddie” Ogle, 70, passed away on Sunday, August 2, 2020 in Winston-Salem, NC.

Eddie grew up deep in the mountains of West Virginia. A veteran of the Army, Eddie lived the rest of his life in Virginia. He developed a passion for Old-Time music and won many awards at music festivals in several states. Eddie was best known for his harmonica and guitar skills and was a fond member of the band, Mountain Fling. He will be missed by many Old-Time musicians and was best remembered for his kindness, generosity, and loving smile. Eddie also loved to travel either in his van or on a motorcycle.

Eddie will be missed most of all by his beloved family which includes daughter, Victoria and husband Zack Spaugh of Terre Haute, IN and their five children, Amelia, Susannah, Walter, Simon, and Clara. His love of music and travel has passed down to his grandchildren and will be forever remembered. Eddie is also survived by three beloved siblings, older brother, Ernie and Sue Ogle of Thomasville, NC; niece, Christina and Chris Hunt of Sophia, NC (Hannah, Ethan, Bryce); nephew, Jimmy and Christy Ogle of Midway, NC (Olivia and Courtney); younger brother, Teddy and Linda Ogle (Teddy III) of Cherryville, NC; nephew, Teddy Jr. and Angie Ogle (Jacob and Azzlee) of Iron Station, NC; nephew, Jason Ogle (Chyann and Jason Jr.) of Cherryville, NC; niece, Melissa and George Charles (Charity) of Dallas, NC; great-nephew, Alan Michael and Allie Fox (Alayna) of Kansas; niece, Pam Williams and fiancé Eddie Thompson of Cherryville, NC; niece, Nicole and Chance Barkley (Alexander) of Cherryville, NC; younger sister, Ruth Ann and Junior Vest of Boissevain, VA; nieces, Heather (Grace, Joy, Rosalie) and Kimberly; nephews, Justin (Chloe,, Landon, Madelyn), Everett, and Andrew (Tyler, McKayla) Vest. He was preceded in death by his mother, Grace (Rose); father, Clarence; and brothers Tony, Roger and Clarence, Jr.

Services will be private at the request of the family.
