Elsie Whitaker

Mrs. Elsie Mae Beauchamp Whitaker, 93, of Advance, passed away Sunday, October 25, 2020 at Trellis Supportive Care. She was born September 22, 1927 in Davie County to Anna Rights Beauchamp and Roy Charles Beauchamp. Mrs. Whitaker was a member of Redland Church, IPHC where she loved to sing in the choir. Elsie loved sending cards and church bulletins to those who were absent from church. She loved gardening and cooking meals for her family. Mrs. Whitaker was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Knox Whitaker; a brother, Roy Beauchamp, Jr.; a sister, Sue Ellis; a son, Danny Whitaker; a daughter, Vickie Whitaker Crews and a grandson, Justin Whitaker. Surviving are two daughters, Janis Whitaker Rogers Stimpson and Cindy Parker; a daughter-in-law, Jane Whitaker; two sisters, Laverne Hicks and Betty Grey Pardue (David); eight grandchildren, Kimberly Rogers Rowell (John), Brad Rogers (LeAnn), Wendy Owens (Dave), Tony Gray Foster, Samantha Voreh (Matt), Brian Simpson (Nicole), Christie Massey and Tim Fishel (Kristen); 16 great grandchildren, Meridith Richard, Kirsten Dillingham, Madi Rogers, Morgan Bullington, Cameron Owens, Lucas Foster, Madelyne Rose, Meghan Voreh, Michael Maready, Dalton Simpson, Rowen Simpson, Grayson Simpson, Braxton Massey, Heidi Kinder, Taylor Kinder and Cade Fishel; four great great grandchildren, Fletcher Richard, Blakely Maready, Bentley Bullington and Blakelyn Bullington. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 28, 2020 at Redland Church, IPHC with Pastor Dave Richardson, Jr., Pastor Joel K. Boyles and Mr. Tim Dunn officiating. The family will receive friends one hour before the service. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
