Gary Taylor

King – Mr. Gary Matthew Taylor, 69, passed away on Thursday, May 5, 2022, at his residence. He was born on July 9, 1952, in Forsyth County to Irvin Matthew and Frances Flynt Taylor. Gary was a proud Veteran of the United States Marine Corps. For work, he retired from RJ Reynolds Tobacco company after many years of service. Gary was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed deer hunting. He loved animals, especially his canine companion, Annie, who will miss him very much. Gary was a loving father, grandfather, and friend who will be greatly missed.

In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by his sister, Jan Tucker.

Left to cherish his memory are two children, Lori Cooke (husband, Jonathan) and Michael Taylor (wife, Kathryn); and his granddaughter, Amelia Cooke.

There will be no formal funeral service, but the family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Tuesday, June 7, 2022, at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Gary’s name may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project at 1990 Fordham Drive, Suite 100, Fayetteville, NC 28304.
