Hallie Creed

Kernersville – Hallie “Ruth” King Creed, 90, passed away on Thursday, April 8, 2021 at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center. She was born on September 1, 1930 in Surry County, NC to the late Walter Swaim and Gillie Ruth Smith King. Ruth had a boundless love for her family and enjoyed spending time with them. One of her favorite things to do was going to her grandkid’s ballgames and trips to the beach. Ruth loved her church family at Kernersville Wesleyan Church. She made the best biscuits and was known by many as the “Biscuit Queen.” Ruth did everything she could to take care of her family and everyone around her. She was loved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed.

In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her loving husband, Clarence Wilbur Creed; two brothers; and two sisters.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Rhonda Belk (Jimmy), Dianne Jackson (Gary), Judy Peabody (Wayne), Mitchell Creed (Brenda Bovender), Debra Studevent (James), and Keith Creed (Angela); thirteen grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; one sister, Mable “Sue” Shaw; one brother, Stan King (Joan); and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, April 11, 2021 at Kernersville Wesleyan Church with Pastor Steve Martin, Pastor Scott Simmons, and Pastor Leon Thompson officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 2:45 PM prior to the service at the church. A graveside service will be held 11:00 Monday, April 12, 2021 at Eastlawn Gardens of Memory in Kernersville with Pastor Steve Martin, and Pastor Scott Simmons officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Shepherd’s Center of Kernersville 431 West Bodenhamer Street B, Kernersville, NC 27284. Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel is assisting the family.
