Helen Booze Speas

Helen Booze Speas, 91, died on May 8, 2022, at Village Care Skilled Nursing Facility in King. Born to Della Irene Rierson and Clifton W. Booze in Stokes County. Helen enjoyed baking, cooking, and sewing. She was a lifelong member of Jefferson Christian Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Hoover Gray Speas; sisters, Barbara Byrd and Donnie Wall; brother, Elbert Booze, and son, Mark Speas. She is survived by two daughters, Judy Simms, Teresa Lowe (Scott) and son, Tim Speas (Kim); three grandchildren, Ricky Mosley, Abbie Lakins and Dakota Speas; three great grandchildren, Lauren Mosley, Tyler Mosley and Jackson Carter. Helen so enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, family, and many nieces and nephews; in addition to a very dear sister-in-law, June Booze and very dear niece LaDonna Ingram. Special thanks to Senior Services of Winston-Salem and to Village Care of King for all the loving care that she received. A funeral service will be held 2:00PM Wednesday, May 11, 2022, at Jefferson Christian Church with Steve Cook, Minister officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials may be made to Senior Services 2895 Shorefair Drive Winston-Salem NC, 27105 and to the Jefferson Church Cemetery Fund.
