John Bowman

Kernersville – Mr. John Franklin Bowman, 53, passed away on Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at his residence. He was born on September 30, 1967 in Forsyth County to Donald Gray and Lavern “Bernie” Fountain Bowman. John worked for the Kernersville Police Department for 28 years, working his way up from Patrol Officer to Sergeant and retiring with the rank of Lieutenant. John will be greatly missed by his family and all of his friends.

John was preceded in death by his mother, Lavern “Bernie” Fountain Bowman.  He is survived by two sons, Hunter and Jacob Bowman; his father, Donald Gray Bowman; one brother; four nieces; one nephew; four grandnieces; and one grandnephew.

A graveside service for John will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, May 6, 2021 at Gardens of Memory in Walkertown with Rev. Frank Shumate officiating. Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel is assisting the family. Online condolences may be made at www.hayworth-miller.com.
