Mrs. Martha Gail Grubbs, 69, passed away on May 10, 2019 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born on January 6, 1950 to Lillie Kimmer Robertson and Albert Luther Robertson, Jr. in Winston-Salem. Gail was an active member of Turner’s Creek Baptist Church. She served as a Sunday School teacher, choir member, cook, and camp volunteer. Gail loved to cook and made the most delicious chicken stew. She helped her husband Jack with the barbecue and made her own famous coconut cake. Gail will also be remembered as a story-teller, party-planner, and a godly example to many. She had a joyful spirit and never met a stranger. More than anything she loved her family. Gail was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Jack Grubbs; and siblings, Evelyn Logan and Albert Robertson. Survivors include her children, Jay Grubbs and wife, Kelley, and Misty Grubbs; grandchildren, Kristina Grubbs, Haley Grubbs, Jacob Grubbs and Joshua Grubbs; a brother, Buddy Robertson; nieces and nephews, Diana Miller and husband, Jake, Tim Robertson, Bryan Robertson and wife, Sandy, Crystal Tatman and husband, Sam; and Shane Robertson. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon, Monday, May 13, 2019 at Turner’s Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Scott Welch officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Turner’s Creek Baptist Church, 3216 Courtney-Huntsville Rd., Yadkinville, NC 27055.
