Phyllis Kimel

On Saturday January 9, 2021 Phyllis Ann Norton Kimel, loving sister and aunt, passed away at the age of 87. Phyllis was born on May 12, 1933 to the late Harriet M. and Zeb V. Norton Sr. Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband Charles Kimel and her sister Louise N. Teague. Surviving siblings are Zeb Norton Jr. and Alton Norton. Also survived by her faithful friend Ray Martin. She was a long-time member of First United Church of Christ. There will never be another Phyllis. She loved deeply and genuinely. When asked what she wanted people to know about her she said; “She loved life.” A graveside service will be held at Waughtown Cemetery: 1802 Waughtown St, Winston-Salem on her birthday May 12, 2021.
