Rachel Wood

Mrs. Rachel Scott Wood, 89, of Lexington, passed away Thursday, May 5, 2022 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born January 14, 1933 in Davidson County to Elcer Lee Scott and Claudia Everhart Scott. Mrs. Wood was a member of Arcadia United Methodist Church where she was a member of the choir and the United Methodist Women. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Franklin Wood, Sr. Surviving are her three children, Robert “Frankie” Wood, Jr. (Jeanne), Scott Wood and Lynn Dean; five grandchildren, Amanda Wood, Rebecca Wood, Christopher Dean (Holly), Courtney Wilson (Micheal) and Steven Dean (Savannah); two great grandchildren, Brandon and Matthew DeHart; one great great grandson, Mason DeHart and two sisters, Fallie Martin and Dollie Kiger. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 9, 2022 at Arcadia United Methodist Church Cemetery with Wendy Marion officiating. The family will receive friends from 4:00-6:00 p.m. Sunday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.
