Rebecca Gibson

Rebecca Lynn Gibson, 68, of Winston-Salem, passed into the more immediate presence of her Savior the morning of November 23, 2021 at Forsyth Memorial Hospital. She is survived by her mother, Ora Mae Gibson, and a number of cousins and their children and grandchildren. She is also survived by several dear friends who also knew and loved her. Her father, Joe Bill Gibson, preceded her in death in 2006. Rebecca was an executive assistant in the banking industry working first at Piedmont Federal Savings and Loan, and then at Newbridge Bank until her retirement in 2017. Rebecca loved crafts. Like both of her parents, she loved making things with her hands. She was a member of the Cricket’s Nest, and like her mother, she especially enjoyed knitting. She was a member of the Mary Ann Fogle Service League of Home Moravian Church, where she enjoyed using her craft skills as the group’s members made Christmas Lovefeast candles for use in churches and a few schools. Rebecca enjoyed time at the lake, principally Lake Norman, where she spent wonderful days with friends. In addition to her family and friends, there were two others who were important parts of her life. These important parts of her life were her two dogs, Taylor, and Annie, which she cherished at different times in her life. Rebecca’s life and faith will be celebrated at Home Moravian Church, where she was a member for many years, on Sunday, November 28, 2021, in the sanctuary at 3:00PM. Visitation will follow in the fellowship hall. The COVID protocol of the church requires that everyone wear a mask while in the building. In lieu of flowers, friends are invited to donate to the NC Yorkie Rescue, Inc., 5071 Foxburrow Road, Greensboro, NC 27406, or a charity of their choice. Servant of God, well done! Rest from your loved employ; the battle fought, the victory won, enter your Master’s joy. Online condolences may be made at www.hayworth-miller.com.
