Rebecca "Becky" Sidden

Ms. Rebecca “Becky” Jane Swaim Sidden, 94, of Winston-Salem passed away Friday, June 24, 2022, at her residence. She was born in Forsyth County to the late Olin Franklin Swaim and Martha Raper Swaim on February 26, 1928. Becky was a longtime member of Oaklawn Baptist Church. She retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company after 34 years of service. She enjoyed bowling, playing bridge, gambling, and being with friends and family. In her younger years she enjoyed traveling with her husband Johnny. Becky was preceded in death by her husband, John Arvel Sidden; son, Randy Sidden; sister, Elizabeth Stovall Watts. She is survived by her children, Judy Sidden, J. Michael Sidden, and Jane Griesbauer (Gary); seven grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; brother, Olin “Bud” Swaim, Jr.; sisters, Patricia Daniel (Shawn) Olene Tilton (Dan); daughter in law, Susan Sidden, and several nieces and nephews. A celebration of her life will be held 12:00 noon Thursday, June 30, 2022, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. The family will receive friends Wednesday, June 29, 2022, from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, a memorial may be made at The Elizabeth and Tab Williams Adult Day Center, 231 Melrose Street, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
