Richard Goff

Mr. Richard Gray “Blue” Goff, 71, died on February 1, 2019 at Trellis Supportive Care in Winston-Salem, NC after an 11 month battle with Glioblastoma. Richard was born in Forsyth County on June 9, 1947, the son of the late Norvell Gray “Buss” and Peggy Voss Goff. He lived his entire life in King, NC. Richard was a farmer and owner of King Port-a-Let. His passion was his Ford tractors and pickups and frequent trips with friends to local junkyards. He is survived by three children, a son, Benjamin Gray Goff of Concord, NC (along with significant other, Lindsay Anne Lewis), two daughters, Courtney Lynn Parrish (Devin) and Rebekah Grey Capizzani (Michael) both of King. Also surviving are three precious grandchildren who were the absolute love of his life. Elizabeth Grace “Gracie” Parrish, Jackson Fuller “Jack” Parrish and 8 month old, Penelope Ann “Poppy” Capizzani. Richard is also survived by two sisters, Mary Catherine “Cathy” Goff of King and Martha Anne Goff White (Robert) of Kernersville. Richard had a wealth of friends, never met a stranger and if at all possible, would determine some way to be their “kin.” Richard was generous, he loved to visit, give away yearly calendars, a pound of sausage, a wedge of cheese or a jar of chowchow at Christmas. Funeral services for Richard will be conducted 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 5, 2019 at Trinity United Methodist Church in King, NC with Rev. Bart Milleson and Rev. Lee Johnson officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall. A committal service will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 6, 2019 in Trinity United Methodist Church Cemetery. For their many acts of kindness throughout Richard’s illness, the family wishes to extend their thanks and gratitude to Terry Goff, Jason Carter, Tab Tilley, Andy Whitaker, Benny Jeffords, Janie Sizemore, Robin Jorgensen and Edith Tuttle. They will never know how much the mowed yards, fixed cars, long visits and donations of food meant to both Richard and his family.
