Robert Waite, Sr.

Mr. Robert Addison Waite, Sr., 92, passed away Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home.  He was born in Indianapolis, IN to the late John D. Waite and Ruth E. Waite.  Robert graduated from Iowa State in Ames, IA and later served in the U.S Airforce.  He retired from Miami Crane Service in 2001 as Sales Representative.  Robert was an active member of Oak Forest United Methodist Church. Robert sang in a Barbershop Quartet, called “Sugar Cured Four”.  He enjoyed woodworking, gardening and traveling and his infectious laughter, huge smile and kindness will be remembered by all.  Surviving is his wife of 43 years, Rita Spicer Waite; son Robert Addison Waite, Jr. (Robin) of Virginia; daughter Sue-Ann Ehmer (Mike) of Texas; and Linda Carney (Simon) of Virginia; 3 grandchildren, David and Jonathan Ehmer; Sean Waite; six great-grandchildren.  A memorial service and celebration of life will be held in Winston-Salem at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Oak Forest United Methodist, 11461 Old U.S. Highway 52, Winston-Salem, NC 27107.
