Rodney Nance

Mr. Rodney Thomas Nance, 64, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 8, 2020 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born on March 16, 1956 to Vera Kirkman Nance and Rev. Jack T. Nance in Guilford County, NC.

After high school graduation in 1974, Rodney attended Forsyth Technical College specializing in heating and air conditioning. He began his 36 year dedicated career at RJ Reynolds In February 1976. When Reynolds decided to sub contract out the Utilities Department where Rodney worked, he stayed on with the contractor (Armstrong Inc,). His loyal service for Armstrong began in April 2012 and he was still employed by them at his time of death. Rodney knew his job well and co-workers appreciated his willingness to share knowledge and his ideas for improvement.

Rodney loved his family, friends and co-workers. He grew up in the Moravian Church and enjoyed summer camps at Laurel Ridge. He continued to enrich his life daily in order to learn all he could about Bible teachings.

Rodney also loved outdoor activities such as fishing, boating, kayaking and swimming. He spent a lot of time at the beach and the mountains. In addition, he loved loud music and fast cars. Rodney became an avid organic eater and juicer. He truly believed in its health benefits.

In addition to his parents, Rodney was preceded in death by an infant brother, Todd Nance.

He is survived by a sister, Kashemi Lambeth (Kim); 2 nephews, Brian Lambeth and Perry Lambeth and by many other family and friends.

It is with a heavy heart that due to the continued spreading of the COVID virus, a memorial service will not be held. The family encourages all to celebrate Rodneys life in their own private settings.

Please send memorials to Laurel Ridge Moravian Camp, 124 Pendry Dr., Laurel Springs, NC 28844.
