Rosanelle "Tootie" Barbour

Mrs. Rosanelle “Tootie” Lawrence Barbour, 90, entered into her heavenly home on Thursday, January 7, 2021. She was born in Forsyth County on October 20, 1930, to the late Clinton Rowan and Effie Ector Reynolds Lawrence. Rosanelle, nicknamed “Tootie” by her twin brothers, went to Hanes High School. She was retired from Southern Bell with thirty-eight years of dedicated service. Tootie never met a stranger. She was interested in others and always wanted to share whatever she had. Tootie loved animals, especially her two special kitties, Smoky and Sassy. She was an active member of Fairview Moravian Church, as long as her health permitted. Tootie loved her church and served as a diener, helped in the nursery, preschool and kindergarten, and was a member of the Weber Sunday School Class. She loved her church family.

In addition to her parents, Tootie is preceded in death by her husband of twenty-four years, Jim Barbour; brothers: Clinton, Charles, and Joseph Lawrence; and sisters, Louise Westbrook and Hazel Beal. She is survived by her daughter, Teresa Barbour-Ortiz of Oakley, UT; grandson, Eric Bennett (Tabitha) of Rural Hall; nephews, Charles “Buddy” Lawrence (Jane) and Joe Lawrence (Kathy); niece, Linda Brown (Allen); and many great-nieces and great-nephews.

The family would like to express their sincere thanks to Trellis Supportive Care and for all those who called and kept in touch with Tootie.

A graveside service will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, January 13, 2021, at Salem Moravian Graveyard, officiated by Rev. Scott Venable. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Fairview Moravian Church, 6550 Silas Creek Pkwy, Winston-Salem, NC 27106. Online condolences may be made at www.hayworth-miller.com.
