Sadie Testerman

Kernersville – Mrs. Sadie Marie Reavis Testerman age 96, completed her earthly journey on Wednesday, March 15, 2023. She was born May 12, 1926, in Wilkes County to the late Joseph Andrew Reavis and Nora Naomi Estep Reavis. Sadie was presently the oldest member of Gospel Light Baptist Church. She worked in retail until she was 72 years of age. Sadie was feisty and witty, the love of her life was coffee, she enjoyed playing Chinese Checkers, and was not above bending the rules. Sadie loved her grandchildren and singing to them, “You are my Sunshine” and other songs she would make up from her loving heart and sing to them. She made many friends along the way; she will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Sam Ervin Testerman, four brothers, seven sisters, and an infant great granddaughter, Sadie Faye Paige.

Those left to cherish her memory are; three daughters Doris Testerman, Linda Nifong (Tim) and Sherry Paige (Renny), one son, David Testerman, six grandchildren; Victoria Cheng (Joe), Meagan Wilson (Kyle), Brandon Testerman (Niki), Steven Paige (Kayla), Kayla Paige (Colton), Tyler Testerman, eight great grandchildren; Gabriel Cheng, Evangeline Cheng, Easton Paige, Lily Testerman, Emma Testerman, Athena Wilson, Wilder Wheeler, Samuel Testerman, and one sister Ada Mae Rayle.

A funeral service will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, March 19, 2023, at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel with Rev. Frank Shumate officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the funeral home. A private family burial will be held on Monday, March 20, 2023, with Rev. Matt Morrison officiating.
