Sarah Josephine "Jo" Rutledge

Mrs. Sarah Josephine “Jo” Tuttle Rutledge, 95, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, May 21, 2021 and was in the immediate presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was born in Stokes Co. on January 29, 1926 the daughter of the late Verona and Nonnie Tuttle. Jo loved her church and was a member of Rural Hall Moravian Church for 69 years. She enjoyed the beach, bus tours and shopping. Jo was known for caring and loving nature, caring for her grandmother, Sarah Shouse Tuttle for many years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Obert Ray Rutledge; and two brothers, Elton Wayne Tuttle and Rayborn V. Tuttle. Jo is survived by her many nieces and nephews, who loved her dearly. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at Rural Hall Moravian Church with Rev. Steve Craver officiating. Burial will follow in Crestview Memorial Park. There will be no formal visitation.
