Shirley Holsclaw

KERNERSVILLE- Shirley King Holsclaw passed away at her home on April 26th, 2021. She was born in Caldwell county, NC, on May 13th, 1937, to father Harrie Washington King and mother Savannah Simmons King. Shirley was a widow, having lost her husband, Horace, on July 22nd, 2018. In addition to Kernersville, Shirley had lived in Lenoir, NC, Ingalls, NC, and Russellville, AL. Shirley worked for many years for Blue Bell, a clothing manufacturer in Lenoir.  After moving to Ingalls, she worked for Baxter Industries, in Marion, NC, helping to package glucose syrup for hospitals. Later in life, she worked in the lunch room of one of the elementary schools in Forsyth county. Shirley is survived by her son, Michael Holsclaw, two sisters, Vera Watson and Harlene Triplett, and two brothers, Gary King and Cylde King, all living in Lenoir, NC. A memorial service for Shirley will be planned at a later date.
