Virgie Parnell

Winston Salem – Ms. Virgie Lee Laramore Parnell, 93, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, August 2, 2022. She was born February 25, 1929 to the late Emory Clyde and Wynona Disher Laramore. Virgie was a charter member of Gospel Light Baptist Church in Walkertown. She is preceded in death by her husband Jack Parnell, Sr. a brother Louie Larimore and grandson, Jack Parnell III. Surviving are two children, Jack Parnell, Jr. (Michelle) of Winston Salem, Kathy Boykin (Charles) of Tallahassee, FL. two grandsons Chad Boykin (Jessica) and David Boykin (Shelby), one granddaughter, Angela Borst (Justin), a brother, Douglas “Gene” Laramore, three step granddaughters, Sarah Krokan, Ashton Cross (Matt) and Brittney Davis, nine great grandchildren and many special nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held 11:00 am Friday, August 5, 2022, at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel with Rev. Frank Shumate officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory in Walkertown. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am – 10:45 am prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Gospel Light Baptist Church at 890 Walkertown Guthrie Rd.
