Kernersville – Edna Arsula “Sudie” Hudspeth, 86, went home to be with Jesus on July 26, 2021, following several years of declining health. She was born in Wilkes County on August 5, 1934. She was a member of North Pointe Church, where she loved to attend. Sudie enjoyed loving on her family with her delicious home-cooked meals. Her love for her family knew no bounds, especially for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Sudie always thought of others rather than herself. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her mother and stepfather, Alice and Floyd Southern; her biological father, Ray Caudill (who died when she was a baby); and her sister, Betty Southern Hahn.
Sudie is survived by her husband of 65 years, Richard Hudspeth; her daughter, Deborah Honeycutt (husband, Michael); her son, Rick Hudspeth (wife, Jean); her grandchildren, Chelsea Richardson (husband, Matt), Caleb Hudspeth (wife, Erin), John Teeter (wife, Taylor), and Michaela Teeter; her great-grandchildren, Xander and Evie Hudspeth; and her brother, Johnny Southern (wife, Clara).
A celebration of her life will be held Saturday, July 31, 2021, at 2:00 pm at North Pointe Church with the Rev. Darrell Greene officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. A private interment will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to North Pointe Church, 5225 High Point Rd., High Point, NC 27265, or Hospice Home of the Piedmont, 1801 Westchester Dr., High Point, NC 27262.
