Pamela Jane Byrd

Our beloved, Pamela Jane Byrd, loving wife, mother, and friend to many, passed away peacefully on April 19, 2024, at her home in Lexington, NC.  She was a young 65 years old.  Pamela is survived by her adoring husband of 27 years, Tim Byrd, and her lovely daughter, Jennifer.

Pamela was born on April 4, 1959, and is survived by her father, Elmer (Wanda) Faulkner; mother, Patricia Herbot; sister, Cheryl (Lindsay) Montgomery; and brother Scott (Kathy) Faulkner.

Pamela grew up and lived in the greater Cincinnati area all her life until relocating to North Carolina with her husband, Tim, in 2019.

During Pamela’s career spanning almost forty years, she served in several finance leadership positions at Mercantile Stores, Luxottica Retail, Sara Lee and Paycor.  She had a niche and passion for process improvements, automation and finding a better way.  She was known for hiring and developing top talent.  She was passionate about mentoring young professionals and became a lifelong coach and friend for many who served on her teams.   One staff member remembers Pamela telling him “No matter how far you go, always look behind you and you will see me cheering you on!”

Pamela was known for her love of life, family, friends, and God.  She lived each day to its fullest with a positive attitude and a smile that was contagious.  She loved to be outdoors to see God’s beauty. Pamela had many hobbies. She was passionate about gardening and would often say, “I’m going to my garden to lose my mind and find my soul.” She loved her family and friends unconditionally. She loved to entertain and had the unique gift of ensuring her friends and family felt welcome and special in her home. They all referred to their NC home as the “Byrd Bed & Breakfast.”

Pamela loved to travel with her husband and daughter, and she enjoyed experiencing different cultures and exploring new places. The memories made during their many family trips are priceless.

Pamela’s farewell wishes were not to mourn her; but to celebrate the beautiful life that God gave her. She would be the first to thank her family and friends for the years of love, joy, and happiness they brought to her life!
