Obituary:
Clemmons Mr. Vaios Taxiarhis Tsiakos, 74, passed away Friday, February 17, 2012 at his home. He was born May 5, 1937 in Greece to the late Taxiarhis and Georgia Janos Tsiakos. Mr. Tsiakos was a member of the Greek Orthodox Church. He was the former owner of Dixie Pig Bar-B-Que and the Yadkin Plaza Family Restaurant. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed reading. Mr. Tsiakos was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather. Preceding him in death was his wife, Christina Tsiakos. Surviving are a daughter, Georgia Tsiakos Demopoulos and husband Bill; four grandsons, Kosta, Vaios, Christo and Panayoti all of Clemmons; one brother, Elias and three sisters, Despina, Olympia, and Panayota all of Greece; five brothers-in-law, John Strates and family, Chris Strates and family, Gus Strates and family, Paul Strates and family all of Winston-Salem and George of Greece. A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Monday, February 20, 2012 at the Greek Orthodox Church with Fr. Demetri Kangelaris, Fr. Thomas Guerry, and Deacon Constantine Shepherd officiating. Burial will follow at Forsyth Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 7-8 PM Sunday at the church with a Trisagion at 7:30 PM. On line condolences may be made at www.hayworth-miller.com
